In a converted silo, at the Galisteo Clay Studio, Jennifer Martin creates functional works in clay. She writes, ‘Since my happiest times are cooking in the kitchen with friends and loved ones, I find myself drawn to making cooking pots and functional pieces. Most of my work is done in the spring and summer months. For me, winter is a good time to tuck in and compose on the piano. I work in a metal silo studio with an electric wheel, a kick wheel and a slab roller. I have three kilns outside and an outdoor kitchen studio for cooking and workshops along with an horno oven for traditional pueblo cooking methods.’
