Our Mission
A creative community nestled in a historic village filled with artists, artisans, writers, musicians, environmentalists, and free thinkers, our mission is simple: celebrate and nurture the arts that make our corner of New Mexico so special. We bring people together through engaging programs and thought-provoking lectures at the Galisteo Community Center, which cover everything from contemporary art to ancient traditions and environmental themes. We love inviting artists, authors, and academics to share their insights with our community.
We also curate exhibitions that showcase the incredible talent in our village, from Hispano and Native American artists to Anglo and international creatives. You’ll find our shows both here in Galisteo and in nearby Santa Fe.
And if you haven’t experienced it yet, the celebrated Galisteo Studio Tour is now a collaboration with Galisteo Arts, run by a team of volunteer board members who truly love what they do.

Article 1: Purpose
Galisteo Arts, a New Mexico nonprofit corporation, (the “Corporation”) has been formed to promote the arts in the Village of Galisteo, New Mexico, by producing Galisteo’s annual studio tour and other exhibitions, lectures, gallery showings, workshops, performances, and art related special events. The purpose of these activities is to educate the public, preserve historic traditions, and enhance the current atmosphere for all forms of artistic expression. The Corporation is the result of the merger of the Galisteo Arts Association (previously focused primarily promoting the arts through the studio tour) and La Sala de Galisteo (previous focused pirmarily on promoting the arts through the historic La Sala).
