Richard Fenker studied with Ansel Adams in his workshop program in 1976. Since then, he has exhibited in twenty one-person shows. He is currently represented in New Mexico by Xanadu Gallery in Santa Fe. Traditionally, he has worked with fine art landscapes but has extended his range to include natural abstract subjects, from stones and leaves to butterflies.
His book with poet Sandra Lynn, Where Rainbows Wait for Rain; The Big Bend Country, was the featured large-format photography book for Christmas, in Texas in 1989. Since 2019, Richard has been the developer and featured artist in the Santa Fe Museum of Light. As well as a photographic artist, Richard is an author and inventor, working to support people living with dementia.
Making his home in Galisteo, Richard keeps a studio and exhibition space in downtown Santa Fe, next to the Santa Fe Museum of Light.
