RAYE RABBITFOOT

Raye Rabbitfoot is an artist-creator of installation pieces for the theater. A bi-lateral resident of the Caribbean and Galisteo, New Mexico, she is also the author of cultural audio books for the Caribbean and American Southwest. Her work has ranged from Dios de la Muerte paper maché figures to a “Moko Jumbie” stilt walker figure, exhibited at The Caribbean Museum Center of the Arts, in St. Croix. This year, her life slowed down to a 10” x 12” format: seated at a desk, letting her titanium parts heal into place, she took to making Wire Works.

“Getting old isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” Ray’s ninety-seven year old father used to say, but the prize for her slow pace and patient recovery is Wire Works, images made in wire, matted onto board.
