PETER C STOCKER
In 2025 Peter spent the year on a return to painting after a long period off. Focused on local rock formations in 2025, this year focusing his vision upwards to the dramatic cloud formations we see here in Galisteo every Spring. Continuing to experiment with variations on painting and substrate mediums, Peter is incorporating obsolete computer and office hardware as a way to repurpose plastic destined for the landfill. An analog reaction to “the cloud” we all use now to store our modern memories. “ I looked at how tramp art took repurposed scrap wood and old cigar boxes to make something new, beautiful and relevant again. I hope to use some of these old printer and computer shells to add texture and interest to my work. I’m happiest when the process and results are playful and enjoy trying to meld my abstract style with these forgotten hunks of technology.”
