BARBARA HOLLOWAY

Barbara Holloway is a hand weaver and designer, creating a one-of-a-kind clothing line. She weaves her fabrics on a 4-harness foot-powered floor loom, sews them into garments and hand-embellishes. It is labor intensive work, needing quantities of uninterrupted time, but it is supported by the beauty and peace of Galisteo Village. Barbara’s small studio is functional, not glamorous, but it borders the 81,000 acre San Cristobal Ranch, and the vistas from her home are endless. 

Always looking for the next great color combination, Barbara finds her color inspirations across the physical world, from nature, to artwork, to travel, and is particularly inspired by ethnic textiles the world over. 

A successful weaver, designer and business owner, over the past twenty years, Barbara has participated in juried art festivals around the US, winning numerous awards in the Textile Category. She loves her art form and traveling around the country, yet she is always glad to get home.  She calls it ‘A Good Place to Land’.
