Since 2022, Angela has been a full-time artist following a career as Interior Design Director in NYC, shop and gallery owner, as well as a furniture designer for Holly Hunt and Knoll in Chicago.  Her artistic process begins with outdoor exploration, where she acts as a “visual collector”. Abstracted forms and colors emerge from examining nature’s textures and patterns at both macro and micro scales. The act of play is the core of her practice, allowing for total freedom of process and medium.

Her primary inspiration is derived from found rocks and their native landscapes. These natural elements impact her work by driving the creation of organic forms juxtaposed with geometric patterns. Currently, she works from her living room and patios while awaiting the construction of a woodshop and ceramic studio. Her home is a sanctuary and an interactive environment—a personal “cabinet of curiosities” where baskets are filled with collected stones, branches, and vintage objects.

Living and working in Galisteo profoundly influences her practice. The vastness of the surrounding terrain provides the mental freedom necessary to focus deeply.  The daily backdrop of the Ortiz Mountains, with their fluid and ever-changing characteristics, serves as a source of endless inspiration for her art.
