“The birth of Elizabeth Rose by the light of a hurricane lamp on the dining room table in the Himalayan foothills during the last decade of the British Raj foretells an unusual life ahead. A Raj orphan shipped from India aged seven, roaming the moors of an English children’s home, feral, her imagination developed un-schooled and un-censored.”
Elizabeth Rose is a sculptor, award winning poet and nonfiction writer. She was recipient of the Zia Book award and New Mexico Press Women award. After working with cut and folded steel for ten years, Elizabeth Rose transitioned to three-dimensional ceramic sculpture for bronze.
She has had solo shows from Toronto, Canada to Berkeley, California and Taos, New Mexico. As part of the Santa Fe Arts Program public art, for three years, her work was in the Santa Fe railyard.
