Building a surface like an ancient wall, textured with modelling paste and sand, Weldon works in acrylic and oil and collage from vintage ephemera. His Galisteo studio – his “playroom” – combines natural light and music with a collection of found objects, from old signs, to tin toys and ventriloquist heads, to game instructions and sheet music. Music is central to his improvisational process. The repetition of a single piece will guide a work, shifting his “focus at least one degree, to allow for the happy accident”.

Based in San Francisco and Galisteo, Weldon has exhibited at Museum of Craft & Design in San Francisco, and Vorpal Gallery in San Francisco and New York. He has shown at Testaccio Gallery in Rome, Italy, and InArt Gallery, Santa Fe. His work has also been featured on television in Californication and How I Met Your Mother.
